ALBORADA

The privilege of recommending the Alborada Folk Music Group is a delightful one. The musicians are excellent and represent their music well. They play a variety of handmade instruments from South America. They sing in English and Spanish. Children are invited to actively participate where appropriate. I highly recommend this musical group, Alborada, for an audience of all ages who wish to experience folk music from South America.

Knolls Elementary School, Simi Valley, CA

Milo Batista and his family delighted our children and our staff. Our staff had requested that I 'find something a little different this year,' and I can say that they were not disappointed with Alborada. During the presentation, children were introduced to many South American folk instruments and were energized by the interplay with the performer. Children loved encouraging staff members to become part of Alborada's performance. My staff were equally delighted to see their students actively engaged in the performance. We all agreed that the performance ended way too soon, and we certainly were left with the feeling of wanting more.

I had the opportunity to speak with several staff members and students later in the day, and I asked for their reaction to the mornings program. Words like awesome, high-energy, fun and amazing were commonly heard. Many commented that it was a fun way to learn about another culture and that learning about the instruments was fun. Our staff repeatedly commented about how engaged the children were.

I want to thank Milo Batista and his family for making such a wonderful, positive impression on my students.
